Shared Memories of Ava

"We kidnapped a mouse from the barn, named him Whiskers. Brought it home in her lunch box without her mom knowing. It lived in a toy horse trailer for 2 days. I love you Ava Lee." - Danielle

"Ava's chicken got lost so we went around in her truck playing chicken noises out of the speaker hoping to find the chicken." - Madison

"I remember being at a BBQ when you were a baby.  I walked through the kitchen and someone else was holding you. You reached for me as I walked by. I felt so much love for you then and it never went away." - Amy

" My favorite memory with Ava is when my family moved to Portland so Ava let me live with her and her family in Scappoose and we spent the whole summer together." - Annie

"All of our barn trips and horse shows. Spending hours and hours with our horses. The Dutch and Burgerville stops too. And every other memory! I love you Ava Lee." - MK

"I will always cherish Ava's sweet and kind nature. She will always be in my heart, my little spring break sidekick. I love you always Ava. It has been an honor to see you become the amazing human you are." - Kelly

"One of my best memories with Ava was freshman year winter formal. Me and her didn’t go to the same school but I was lucky enough to bring her to my schools winter formal. It was one of the first few times we had hung out since leaving our elementary/middle school and starting our high school lives. We were getting ready together talking about how excited we were for the night and I just remember thinking “Wow. Me and this girl really are gonna be friends for life.” Because of how normal it still felt to be with each other despite not being a part of each others everyday lives anymore. I am so grateful for all the memories, smiles, and love we shared over our almost 13 years of friendship." - Taylor

"When Ava was younger she and May and Makayla would come and have sleep overs at my house down in the family room. I would make platters of good veggies and snacks because they all loved healthy food, Lo too. They would stay up all hours, singing, using the Karaoke, I could hear the TV and giggling and trips to the kitchen well past midnight. I would sneak down around 3am just to see them all sleeping so I could sleep.  I loved these times so much, I was always so honored they thought it was fun to be there." - Grandma

"When my mom and I used to teach Ava's lessons, it was always my favorite time to be at the barn. I'll never know if she heard the 2,000 times I'd tell her to put her heels down, but I did always know she was humming away and happy as always. I love you Ava." - Hannah

"We got snow cones together, and then asked my mom for money. We ended up with double snow cones!." - Emma

“My favorite memory of Ava is when I would see her in the hallway at school and I would tell her to tell her mom and Lolo that I said hi and that I missed them.”  - Kayla S

"Ava was and always will be my best friend. There are too many memories to describe just one, but I will forever cherish the way she would link arms with me and we would walk that way side by side, no matter where we were or how old she was. It meant so much to me. And the way she always wanted me to be part of her life with friends, school and work." - Mom
